Aquacoat ECD is a 30 percent solid polymer aqueous dispersion of ethylcellulose for film coating of pharmaceutical dosage forms. It is designed for a variety of coating applications to achieve sustained release, taste-masking and moisture-barrier/sealant coatings. As ethylcellulose is a hydrophobic polymer, various kinds of release patterns can be achieved by use of suitable plasticizers, pore formers, etc.
