The complexes formed with betacyclodextrin are of monomolecular type leading to the concept of “molecular encapsulation”. Betacyclodextrins can improve the solubility of poorly soluble compounds and finds use as encapsulating agents, solubility and stability enhancers for tablets, capsules, sachets and oral suspensions. They are also used for taste masking of bitter or unpleasant active ingredients.
