KOLLICOAT® MAE
Methacrylic acid copolymer USP/NF, EP, JPE Kollicoat MAE is an anionic polymer derived from methacrylic acid - ethyl acrylate in the molar ratio of 1:1. This product is a state-of-the-art film-forming agent used for reliable and convenient enteric coating of solid oral dosage forms. Film coatings formed by Kollicoat MAE are insoluble below pH 5 and thus resistant to gastric fluid. Due to salt formation in the neutral to weakly alkaline medium of intestinal fluid, the films dissolve step wise at pH values above 5.5.
