CALCIUM CARBONATES

PRECIPITATED CALCIUM CARBONATES USP/NF, EP, JP

Precipitated Calcium Carbonate is manufactured via a series of controlled chemical reactions. Generally, quicklime (CaO) is mixed with water to form a slurry and carbon dioxide is added. This produces a very fine precipitated CaCo3 which is then dried and packaged. These are microcrystalline white powders characterized by their high chemical purity, controlled particle shape and particle size distribution. Different grades are available depending on particle size, shape, distribution, colour and purity
