L - HPC®

Low substituted Hydroxypropyl Cellulose USP/NF, EP, JP

L-HPC is a low substituted Hydroxypropyl ether of cellulose. It is insoluble in water and solvents but swells in water. It causes changes in the binding and disintegrating characterisitcs as a result of subtle changes in physical properties. Thus, it is widely used as dual-functional excipient (disintegrant/binder) for tablets, granules or other pharmaceutical solid dosage forms.
